Mission
IMPOP: Intelligent Minds Positive on Purpose
Our mission is to leverage STEAM resources to fill the gap between “Community Needs” and “Available Resources”. We foster intelligent minds by utilizing edu-tainment, technology, and social entrepreneurial ventures that introduce youth to opportunities that address social issues. We empower youth and families in self-sufficiency to become sustainable and independent and we discover solutions that improve local and global communities.
Goals
Advance culturally relevant pedagogical practices for African American and POC youth.
Maintain programing that fosters collaboration with teachers, artist, STEAM professionals, and educational institutions.
Develop projects such as teach-ins, workshops, and after school activities that promote cultural esteem.
Assist students in becoming more engage in education.
Develop partnership with counselors, mentors, and educational representatives throughout the greater Bay Area.
Train in-school IMPOP representatives throughout the Nation
History
Founded in 2018 by Jamal Williams and Navoto Babitt, IMPOP Intelligent Minds Positive on Purpose provides assistance to at-risk youth and communities in need and empowers the self-sufficiency and well-being to become sustainable, independent and proud.
How and where we contribute is based on the cultural challenges and strengths of a community as defined by its most precious resource-the people. We use your support to build schools, provide educational materials, create sustainable food programs and provide hope.
